Pinetown, June 2008 - The Catholic Women's League is not a tea pouring organization, but a group of Catholic women who take their faith seriously; noting the call to grow in faith together and to help others. Our motto is: "Faith, Loyalty and Charity". We have wonderful happy times working together as we go about our tasks.
Some of our accomplishments over the past year have been: • Making Nativity Sets which were displayed in shops with "Put Christ back into Christmas". • Donating a fridge and stove to St. Theresa's Orphanage for their Refurbishment Project. • Donating clothing to the refugees at the Cathedral in Durban. • Visiting Nazareth House with cake for afternoon tea and entertaining them. A 92 year old resident who had a beautiful voice sang solo for us.
Every three years, there is a National Conference which will be held this year in Cape Town in August, and we have eleven members who will be attending. This will be an exciting experience for all and the C.W.L. Durban Diocese will become National team for the next three years.
We invite the women of the parish to come join us at a meeting as a visitor. Our meetings are on the first Saturday of every month at 1.30pm for 2.00pm. If anyone would like further information, you are welcome to phone Margaret at 031-702 6068 or Lynne at 031-708 4043. |

The deanery held the first of a number of Catechetical Formation days in the parish hall on Saturday 31st May. With a turnout of just under 20 people the group was smaller than anticipated, but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in enthusiasm. The focus of the day was the call that our catechists receive in their baptism and how they respond to that call. There were a number of presentations from the team of Rita, Peter and Martin with self-reflection and group work inbetween. The Pinetown catechists did a wonderful job of providing teas and eats for everyone to enjoy at tea-time and lunch time. The next formation day will be at Pinetown on the 14th June at 9am. All deanery catechists and anyone interested in deepening their own faith are invited to attend. | The catechetists and the deanery team arround the table
