Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is aimed at:
- The unbaptised (Catechumens)
- Those seeking full Communion with the Catholic Church (Candidates). These are baptised practicing Christians from other denominations that are recognised by the Catholic Church who wish to join the Catholic Church
- Those who have been baptised as Catholics but have not celebrated the Sacraments of First Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation or who need only to be Confirmed.
The course runs for a full year from June to Easter, during the school term and is held on a Tuesdays at 18:00 in English and Sundays at 08:30 in isiZulu at our parish.
Those wishing to join are invited to a ‘Come and See Evening’ in the last week of May (see bulletin for details), and are then expected to attend every Tuesday thereafter for the duration of the course.
All are received into the Full Communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil celebration held on Easter Saturday.
